COLUMBUS, OH - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife has issued a statewide directive to its enforcement officers to clarify guidelines for enforcing a new rule that specifies the condition of fish fillets being kept or transported.

The annual drawdown at Catahoula Lake, scheduled to begin on May 1st and detailed in a Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries April 25 press release, has been delayed until June 18 to allow for continuation of oil-drilling activity on leases administered by Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LDNR) on the lakebed. The water level needs to be maintained at or above 34 feet MSL for oil-drilling equipment to operate and move between drilling sites.

DNR to release 70,000 brown trout at Port of Indiana
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will release 70,000 young brown trout into Lake Michigan today at the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor.
The 3.5-inch fingerlings are expected to be released into Lake Michigan at 3 p.m. (Central).

Annapolis, Md. - Anglers who catch a snakehead fish could win prizes worth up to $200 in the Maryland Department of Natural Resources' (DNR) second annual snakehead contest. Anyone who removes at least one of the invasive, non-native fish from the Chesapeake Bay's watershed has the chance to walk away with prizes from Bass Pro Shops at Arundel Mills, the Maryland Park Service, the Potomac River Fisheries Commission and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. To enter, an angler should submit catch details and a photo of their dead snakehead online through the DNR Angler's log, a popular social fishing site, at dnr.maryland.gov/fisheries/fishingreport/log.asp.
